做为一张神怪惊悚电影（罗曼·波兰斯基1999年作品）配乐原声带，《第九道门》所呈现的旋律美，以及音乐结构上的完整性，让人惊讶。整部配乐不仅有丰富多变的主题旋律，同时也有结构完整，铺陈流畅的音乐编辑，这使得这张原声带根本不像电影配乐，更像一张有高度独立性的音乐专辑．不过，若说到这部配乐的作者是Wojciech Kilar，那么对乐迷而言，这张原声带所呈现的高品质与独立性，或许就不那么让人惊讶了，因为在Wojciech Kilar的前作如《惊情四百年》中，这些特质早已让不少乐迷留下深刻的印象。
