DCD不再仅仅只属于欧洲。
DCD在Perry和 Gerrard的不断实验与改革中不断进步着，在“Spleen and Ideal”的音乐基础上，采用了大量中东地区的民谣，精美的艺术摇滚宛如黑暗里凝神倾听的电影音乐，恍然间让人想起了4AD旗下另一支美学摇滚乐队Bauhaus。
这张专集在DCD的乐史上可谓分量极重（在笔者的心目中绝对不低于之后的Into the Labyrinth），留下了大量的传世之作，像是 Gerrard空前绝后的出色表演的“The Writing on My Father’s Hand”和“Song of Sophia ”，浓郁宗教味道的“Ullyses”，有着绝妙管风琴伴奏的In the “Kingdom of the Blind” ，以及后被大量电影选用音乐的“The Host of Seraphim”。
